The saying rings that beautiful things rarely ask for attention. It holds true for this modest 20.9-hectare farm overlooking the awe-inspiring Outeniqua maintain range. It is centrally located on the R 328 only 25km’s from the ever-popular Hartenbos. Besides the fact that the farm was once a very productive flower farm, other agricultural possibilities (for example Macadamia nuts, Avocados) are a given due to an existing irrigation system. Lovely family farm, ideal for retirement purposes due to the prime location within a scenic and serene haven.
On the premises there are three houses. The first house has 3 bedrooms; a loft (which can be converted into another bedroom); and 2 bathrooms; a living room; kitchen; and dining room. All rooms have carpets which were replaced in 2016. In 2012, a room was added with built-in cupboards and the thatched roof of the house was replaced. Outside, there is also a swimming pool.
The second house contains 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, living room, kitchen and improvements include a re-paint and new fitted carpets in 2013.
The third house has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, kitchen and sunroom.
On the farm you will find a shed (500 sqm) which is currently used for the preparation of pincushion flowers harvested on the farm intended for export.
Other features include:
* 2 x cement dams (30 000 L and 20 000 L respectively)
* A borehole providing approximately 10 000 L/hour and used for household as well as irrigation of pincushion flowers via existing irrigation pipes to 7.5-hectare fields (pressure pumps with installed filters)
* Rain water intercepted from the shed’s roof
* 4 x JoJo water tanks (holds 5 000 L each)
* 3-Phase Electricity supply in shed
Hartenbos is located between Mossel Bay and George and is undoubtedly one of the most popular holiday destinations in South Africa’s Cape Garden Route. The endless, white sandy beach is ideal for long and relaxing walks, swimming, sunbathing, fishing, canoeing and other water sports. Attractions generously bestowed upon this area by Mother Nature’s include whale, dolphin and seal sightings during the months from May to November; the river mouth also serves as breeding grounds for various bird species. During the December holidays the serenity normally associated with Hartenbos is temporarily replaced with pulsating energy exuded by holiday makers flocking to the ATKV beach resort and nearby flea market. The ATKV beach resort incorporates a few shops and restaurants with full sea view as well as a water park with slides, jungle gym, putt-putt course and an enclosed heated pool.
